Juvenile issues

When your child is in trouble — or when children’s services is involved — things can get overwhelming fast. You want to protect your family and know what to do next. That’s where I can help.

I work with families in juvenile (children’s) court on common juvenile matters like:

What will I do for you?

I’ll explain what is happening in plain language and help you take smart steps to protect your child and your rights as a parent. Juvenile court is about fixing problems and moving forward, not punishing you or your child.

In children’s services cases this means helping you understand:

How much will it cost me?

In many juvenile cases, the court will appoint a lawyer if a child or parent cannot afford one. However, you always have the right to hire your own attorney. For many families a court-appointed lawyer works well. In other situations, hiring an attorney means more attention and flexibility.

A lot of juvenile court work can be priced at a flat fee: I quote you a price, you pay once, and that is all. Longer and more complicated processes (such as Children’s Services cases) can often be “split” into different phases and priced accordingly. Payment plans are available.
